This is the 3rd time I have read Dr. Hairston's book, Cover Her. This time, it finally sunk in. I made notes, highlights and commentary that I will use the rest of my life as I relate to, cherish and "cover" my wife. The practical insight and demonstrable actions one can take are spelled out in plain English. No mystery here.Btw, like me...if you don't "get it" after the first or second read, read it again! If you have 2 brain cells still rubbing together, you'll get it. Thank our heavenly Father when you do!

I liked this book because it comes a time in every mans life where they must step up and be the man that there wife or daughters will need and depend on. While some new thoughts were expressed I felt while reading that I could do better and cover just a little more in my daily roles as a husband and father just to name a few. I would recommend this read to any young man who is either engaged, soon to be engaged, or married. Pastor Rod does an awesome job giving scriptures in this book so that you can follow along in your Bible as well. Five stars is my rating. I hope that I can live by these principles everyday and maybe inspire someone else to do the same.
I had heard the author speak at a conference and decided to purchase this book as a follow-up. I ended up purchasing extra copies to give to my married son and son-in-law. 'An easy read with helpful life suggestions.
What an awesome book. A quick but effectively practical read. It has drastically improved many relationships in my life and household. The most profound point was waking up to the fact that God created woman to fulfill man's need. I no longer tell my wife I love her, but rather I need her.
WOW, This book is POWERFUL. Men, this book is for you, especially if you are a Husband and/or Father. This book is so on point. It will keep you drawn in and wanting to keep reading. Every Chapter is extremely helpful and moving to want to be a better man, spouse and father. I highly recommend this book. IT'S A LIFE CHANGER!
My husband and I liked this book, where it supported the Bible. The husband, as the head of the wife, takes the loving initiative to be more responsible for the relationship. Listening, and encouraging open, honest communication from the wife, considering the wife, so his heart would be listened to by his Head, the Lord Jesus. I would have liked to have read a caution to the other side of how to determine, when someone is overprotective, beyond 'covering' to controlling. Making the emotional environment oppressive beyond covering in love. Safety is perceived when someone is loving within God's boundaries; we have a free choice, while He loves and forgives us unconditionally; pursues us with kindness in a loving way; yet He does not stalk us, if we refuse... He waits, but does not strive with us forever. Only HE is the Way, the Truth, and the Life....If the husband follows Him, then, the wife is safe to follow the husband... As Paul said, 'Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. 1Cor. 111. If he does not follow Christ in some area, don't follow him.
I liked that it goes against existing and encroaching cultural norms that neutralize the pride of men in treating the women in their lives with difference and honor.
It investigates areas for practical ‘covering’ and what that would look like in our society. I felt proud about my progress in these areas as well as a sense of excitement about growing better in my relational walk, and then came the challenge to mentor others to do likewise...masterful!
